- WOMEN IN AFRICANART

-
In Africa, numerous female figures have been created and revered as symbols of fertility, prosperity, and the bountiful earth. In some regions, women are considered the origin of their people due to their role in giving birth to life, and as the "primordial mother," they represent the legitimacy of matrilineal royal lineage. This exhibition presents female figures crafted with unique expressions by different ethnic groups, as well as masks used to portray women, accessories, and textiles.
