People of Africa, Oceania, Indonesia, Asia 
- Images of people who wore masks were drawn on cave walls of Tassilin’ Ajjer in the Sahara desert of South Algeria in 4000BC. These masks are similar to the one Gere or Wobe people use in the Republic of Cote d’ Ivoire. Spiritual life is essential in Africa. Realistic and symmetric forms are not considered to represent “BEAUTY”. Therefore, deformed shapes largely represent their spiritual vision and they consider deformation to be their realistic beauty. The exhibition introduces unlikely or fascinated forms through masks which represent African art.

People of Africa, Oceania, Indonesia, Asia 
- Distinctive ideas, cultures, and arts exist as the number of ethnics live in the world. It can not be proven that the art from advance or civilized countries are necessary to be better than others. Native people live in Africa, Asia, Oceania, Indonesia, Phillippine, Himalaya, and Japan. They have distinctive ideas and cultures which lead to art. Their art is sometimes strong, fearful, or beautiful. It talks to our heart. The word, “Globalization” has been claimed for long time, but knowing cultures or arts of various people could be the begining of real “Globalization”.

- BEAUTY AND SOUL IN AFRICA
- Diverse people live in Africa. Each of them has different styles of “Beauty” which leads to their “Soul”. Their original beauty and soul have been naturally expressed and became “Forms” for prayers or thoughts. Mainly, masks and statues have been reflected of their prayers. This exhibition introduces “Beauty” which appears through their rituals or lives.

- Celebration of 50th independent
THE SPIRIT AND HEART OF WEST AFRICA 
- The Dogon, Bamana, Bobo, Lobi, Mossi, Dan, Gere, Senufo, and Baure live in West Africa, in particular the Republic of Mali, Burkina Faso, and the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire. Many of them carve sculptures. Their thoughts towards art are completely different to western ideas. Their ways of art influenced Picasso, Black and Matisse. Eventually, their expressions became “Cubism” or “Fauvism” under the art stream in the beginning of 20th century. The Republic of Mali, Burkina Faso, and the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire became independent from France in 1960. The independence day of the Republic of Mali was September 22, 1960. The independence day of Burkina Faso was August 5, 1960 and the independence day of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire was August 7, 1960. Therefore, all three countries’ 50th anniversary of independence is in this year. The exhibition has been mounted to celebrate their anniversaries.

- THE FORM OF SHOCK IN AFRICA
- Various “Forms” exist in Africa. Naturally the idea of expressing feelings became a source to create various forms. When we see seats and pillows which were their daily utensils, these tools have tremendous ideas, usages, or shapes from each tribe. This exhibition focuses on these unique forms.
